Hospital At Home care is safe. In our Hospital At Home studies, patients were less likely to experience important complications such as delirium (acute confusion) and were much less likely to be prescribed sedative medications or chemical restraints in Hospital At Home when compared with patients admitted to the hospital. In addition, patients treated in Hospital At Home and their family members were as likely as those treated in the hospital to feel that the care delivered was safe.
